Limejump Wins Big at 2018 S&P Global Platts Global Energy Rising Star Award
Winners Were Unveiled on December 6th at a Black-Tie Event in New York City
Energy Tech leader Limejump was named Rising Star at the 2018 S&P Global Platts Global Energy Awards held in New York City. Hosted by S&P Global Platts, the leading independent provider of information and benchmark prices for the commodities and energy markets, the annual awards program honours organizations and individuals in the energy industry who are dedicated to achieving excellence.
Limejump, based in London UK, is bringing a new mindset to the energy market. Through big data and innovation, new ways to earn revenue and maximise flexibility from energy generation are being created. Limejump created history by being the first energy company to trade an aggregated unit in the UK Balancing Mechanism market and manages the largest portfolio of battery storage in the UK.
“We congratulate Limejump being named the S&P Global Platts Global Energy Rising Star,” said Martin Fraenkel, president of S&P Global Platts. “The independent panel of judges was impressed with Limejump for their stand out performance and for their commitment to the energy industry’s advancement.”
Accepting the award on behalf of Limejump was CEO and Co-founder Erik Nygard. Explaining the importance of this success, he added “Being recognised by S&P Platts is a further justification of the revolution we are creating in the energy industry, both in the UK and globally. S&P Platts Global Energy Awards are the pinnacle of recognition for the energy industry and we are extremely proud to be acknowledged as a Rising Star. This achievement caps off a fantastic year for Limejump, including entry into the UK Balancing Mechanism over the summer and continues the strong growth of our business.
The program bestowed 21 awards upon companies and individuals before an audience of over 500 energy and finance executives at a black-tie ceremony at Cipriani Wall Street in lower Manhattan. For a third year, the event was emceed by CNBC Television Energy Correspondent Jackie DeAngelis. Finalists hailed from a record of 37 countries.
